Blockbuster trade in retrospect?

The Broncos got the better bargain. Not only did they receive Champ Bailey, but they also recieved a 2nd round draft pick that year (used to draft Tatum Bell, who performed decently for them). The Redskins did get a great player in portis and his numbers (when healthy) don't lie. The problem is, they sacrificed the player who is widely disputed to be the best CB in the NFL in Bailey, for a player who has missed some major time with injury in Portis (who despite injury, is still an elite NFL running back). In regard to the 2005 season, I don't believe the Broncos would have been as dominant without Bailey shutting down his side of the field. Portis surely would have had huge rushing numbers (1,516 yds/11 TD in2005), but Bailey's effect on the opposing team's ping game is truly game-changing (he had 8 picks and 2 TDs in 2005 BTW; most teams threw away from him).
