Why will my baby sleep everywhere else but not in her crib?

my baby is 5 months old and has not one time slept in her crib. she cries and screams bloody murder if we put her in there. i mean, she will sleep in her bouncer, binett, my bed, she even one time slept all night in her carseat, only because she fell asleep in the car and i didnt want to wake her so we just put the carseat beside our bed thinking she would wake up in a couple of hours but she didnt wake until the next morning. how can we get her to sleep in her crib? we tried the crying out thing but it obviously didnt work. we tried getting her to sleep and then laying her in the crib, not even 5 minutes later she would wake up screaming. my husband seems to think its because there is soo much space around her and ever since she was brought home from the hospital, she has loved being cuddled. so what could we possibly do to help her want to sleep in her crib?
