Will it be wrong for me to retaliate if My DAD hits me?

im 18 yrs old and a senior in HS...my dad when we argue and he gets mad he always says stuff like get out my face before i slap u or something....he is way bigger and taller than me but i will retaliate if he hits me ..calling the cops would not be an option because if i were to call the police everyone in my family would probably hate me
